Found this stone in Dallas area creek, are these fusulinids?  They are supposed to be abundant in limestone in Texas,  you can faintly see rings in them like a slice of onion.

You're correct, these are fusulinids. Those onion ring layers are a great indicator in addition to the rice shape.

If the geological age is Cretaceous, they are not Fusulinids.

Technically I suppose they are Permian, just found in Cretaceous area.  Is that correct?

 Many years ago I found a creek in Nevada that was loaded with this stuff, and yes, my kids called them rice kryspie treats like Himipristis said.   I wonder where that box is?

Pennsylvanian age rocks have been used as erosion control in some Dallas area creeks.

Yes, thank you, that explains a lot of my finds in this area. Fill rock just makes it more interesting for me!
