B06AAFFF-D7BF-4F1E-8ADD-EDBFEBBE2087.thumb.jpeg.29a08a90856aa1bb176626c457c705f0.jpegHi

Firstly location, I live in South Norfolk.   Recently, when rotovating my garden, the blades split a piece of flint and one half had the impression shown on the attached photo.

It looks a little like a worm but that’s the guess of a novice. Can more enlightened forum members suggest what it could be.

I agree it's banded flint which is noted for forming tantalising pseudo-fossils. :)

I agree with the others.

Ah, there ya go.

Here’s me thinking I have another Jurassic Park in my back garden and it’s nothing more glamorous than ‘Banded Flint’.  To be fair I hadn't heard of that before but via Google, I am no longer a total novice.

Thanks to all responders for replying and giving me a topic to bore my friends with at the village pub

Regards
