Rockwood
I've been sorting through some of my old finds. I just happened to put this small spot on a piece from Swatra St. Park in PA under a lens. It's tiny. The scale seen is in mm. Is this the arm of a brittle star ?
Al Dente
The structure appear to alternate from side to side, not something that occurs on a brittle star. It might be a bryozoan and the alternating structures are the sediment filled zooids.

Later I found this shape in parallel rows, so I kind of suspected that might be it.
