obsessed1 Posted July 9, 2010 Share Posted July 9, 2010 This was found as float along the Calvert Cliffs in Maryland. Miocene in age. I believe it is a scapula from a small mammal, but I am not very familiar with mammal bones. It is 2.5" in length x 1.5" in height and 1/4" - 3/8" thick. Owing more to different experience than different interest levels, I am not quite as good with mammal identification as I am with calymenid trilobites. It could be, we should meet up soon, I'll drive down and you can take me out on the boat and I'll be able to id it for you just be sure to bring another find for me to see.
