brachiomyback
As with most teeth at the GMR... they are worn hoping this is a Parotodus benedeni .... however also has some characteristics of Alopias grandis Carcharocles auriculatus Otodus obliquus or for that matter Isurus hastalis can't tell for sure but there may be some evidence of former serrations Your opinions are very much appreciated. Paleoc
Used to have serrations so that means either Carcharodon or Carcharocles. Hard to tell from the images how thick it is. Thick and rounded (on the lingual side) = Carcharocles. Thin and flattened = Carcharodon. Edited June 2, 2011 by Paleoc
MikeDOTB
Hey Brad, Im not a betting man, but if I was, I would say Carcharocles Auriculatus. I have seen Rics with that shape from around NC, you can see one cusp in the picture and serrations. Its an interesting tooth regardless. DO, or do not. There is no try.
