Uncle Siphuncle
Guys I assume this is a deer jaw but I'm curious how to tell deer from antelope teeth. Specimen found in TX last weekend. Any and all responses welcome. Grüße, Daniel A. Wöhr aus Südtexas "To the motivated go the spoils."
Harry Pristis
GuysI assume this is a deer jaw but I'm curious how to tell deer from antelope teeth. Specimen found in TX last weekend. Any and all responses welcome. Looks like a deer to me, Dan. I don't have a Pleistocene antelope jaw for comparison. Here's the deer we have in Florida. Note that the premolars are deciduous. You can see an adult germ tooth in the broken notch under the dp4 (deciduous premolar 4). -----------Harry Pristis http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
