Kentuckiana Mike
Attached are pictures of an unidentified trilobite cephalon found in the Waldron Shale of Clark County, Indiana, USA (near Louisville, Kentucky). This shale dates to the Middle Silurian Period (425-412 million years ago). What is odd about this find is the protrusion on the front of the cephalon that might be some sort of digging scoop. A prepared Calymene breviceps is included in one of the pictures for comparison. My cousin found this specimen a while back and we went through our literature looking for a match with no success. Thanks for looking and we would appreciate any identification help you can provide.
Kentuckiana Mike
After posting I got an e-mail and it was identified as a Spathacalymene sp. So we got an answer. We thought is some sort of Calymene
