collector Posted October 1, 2013 Share Posted October 1, 2013 I was looking at what I am assuming is a gastropod cross section when I noticed that the substrate was fungi shaped. It has what appears to be a silt accretion on it. There are some small holes here and there. Can someone help me identify it? I'm assuming a coral but I haven't come across one of this shape in my searches. Can you tell what the replacement mineral be for the gastropod is? Thank you for any help. There are a number of smaller ones on the matrix I see nothing significant about the hole (depression) Others might ??
