Fish Scales?

This found in the Woodbine Formation at Grapevine Lake in Grapevine, Texas. Often, I find Cretaceous shark teeth, ammonites, petrified wood, and a variety of shells.

My initial thought was some part of a crustacean, but I don't have much expertise in that area...so I'm seeking your help! Thank you!

(Sorry wrong title for this item...fish scales to come!)

In this view, it looks kinda' turtle-ish; rib end at shell edge?

I didn't think of it before, but when you said turtle that opened up a whole new thought process for me. Your suggestion made me think of the findings from the "Arlington Archosaur Site" paper written a few years ago from a group from the University of Texas and University of Wisconsin. They reference several turtle and crocodilyform findings around my area. In that paper, they include some pictures that are very similar in texture to the item I found.

Love this forum. Thank you!
