Stocksdale
I think this one is likely Megalopteris and not Macroneuropteris. Probably Megalopteris ovata. (much rarer than the common Macroneuropteris Here's the detail. and a detail with the veination highlighted that match Megalopteris. and here's an illustration of a megalopteris from Ohio and a cardiocarpon seed similar to the one you posted in the other thread. Some suggested that these could be the seed of Megalopteris awhile back not sure i that is still suggested or not. saysac
Wow Paul, the research you are doing on these is amazing, and I cannot thank you enough. So, I will change the name of the specimen. Do you know what I should call the seed? Sherry
saysac
Paul, I had this identified as Megalopteris, is this correct? Sherry
Stocksdale
Yes, I think that's Megalopteris, too. Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.–Carl Sagan
