Fossildude19
Can we get a few more pictures from different angles, Dom? This looks suspicious to me. Bguild
Is this maybe a faked Hollardops? The front end looks sketchy. The eyes don't seem to have lenses.
Fossil Claw
Best way to tell when it arrives? So now I am skeptical of the four other trilos in the lot.

Fossildude19
I agree, this is most likely a cast. See the air bubbles in the pleural lobes. Fossildude19
I would say so, ... casts or carvings. Hope you can return them. Kane
I'm thinking so. The first one definitely looks it, and the second one looks botched. I think I can see a few more air bubbles in the other ones. ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Fossil Claw
Sold as real not casts. Cheap enough it was worth the risk knowing if they were fake I could get a refund.

Kane
Sorry, Dom. If anything, you did learn something from this experience - which may be cold consolation, but at least you didn't plunk down too much money. ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer
FossilDudeCO
Dom, Often times for the right price I will knowingly buy casts or sculpts. I keep them in my collection to show people how difficult it can be to ascertain the differences. I am going to send you a PM. These do appear to be casts, but to me, some of the higher quality ones I have seen.
Kane
And sometimes casts can be useful in allowing other people to handle them rather than take a chance handling a delicate specimen. Not all is lost. 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Actually these are very poor quality replicas lacking any fine detail and have no scientific value at all. The Harpes and Scutellum are especially bad with crude sculpting of the cephalic features. The worst one in the bunch is this sad representation of a Foulonia. The morphological features were created simply from the imagination of the faker. They must take all their good casts to Tucson (I have never been there) because there are literally TABLES and TENTS at Denver that have big bubbles and chips. I realize that these don't represent a species, but they have been very careful to try and hide the manufacturing flaws versus the ones I typically see. I don't know trilobites well enough to dispute whether they are an actual species or not, which is what makes an even better point for me to use them in the museum. Yes, I have been to Denver and Tucson numerous times. I never noticed any higher quality replicas in Tucson. 1 hour ago, FossilDudeCO said: I realize that these don't represent a species, but they have been very careful to try and hide the manufacturing flaws versus the ones I typically see. A gross aberration in the case of the Foulonia posted above. The minimum threshold for any 'good' replica should be accuracy.
mediterranic
Sorry to join one more opinion. All those are fakes and bad ones (or it will not be so easy to say it directly and with no doubts just looking one photo of each one).
