    Comments

    Upon collecting this specimen, the fourth from this location and the best preserved I labeled it as Palaeophis sp. After research and comparing with photos and line drawings from different sources I have changed that to Pterosphenus. It compares favorably to Pterosphenus schucherti (Lucas, 1898} But I am not prepared at this time to give it this positive I.D.
