An endemic species from the Middle Pleistocene of Florida. A single extant species, J. pustulata is found in the Eastern Pacific (California to Peru, Galapagos and Hawaii). Fossil species of the Genus are concentrated within the Caribbean Basin prior to shortly after the closing of the Central American Isthmus.
