Fossildude19 Posted April 23, 2010 Peter, Any idea what the straight black thing on the right is? Is it a hyolith? Cephalopod? Trilo spine? The detail you can bring out with that software is really incredible! Link to comment
pleecan Posted April 23, 2010 Hi Tim: The straight projections is part of a brachiopod..... Actually the super sharp image is due to Foveon technology DSLR... this is a non Helicon Processed image... rather it is due to a very well made camera / lens combo from Sigma... the software that I did use to increase resolution is from Sigma that manipulates Foveon outputs... these Foveon DSLR are no longer in production. Fossildude19 Posted April 23, 2010 Peter, Thanks for the info. My photography experience is limited to inexpensive digital cameras, and my flatbed scanner on occasion (When it comes to capturing images of fossils.) I just know what I like,... and can appreciate the detail and quality of the fossils you find/photograph. Keep up the great work! Link to comment
