Unknown Devonian Fossil from Bois Blanc Formation ON Canada

The chambered characteristic reminds me of a straight nautiloid. It appears as if the specimens were sliced in half to reveal the chambers. This may also account for the tapering at both ends. The nautiloid may have been curved slightly...away from the '"slicer". They are tiny......I imagine there were baby nautiloids. They could also be cross sections of a

"high - spired" gastropod.

Fossil Ecosystems of North America , Nudds & Selden, 2008 gives a very good description of the fossils found within the Bertie Limestone. I can send the relevant pages to you as attachments....I think. I'm not great with computers but, on occasion, I do surprise myself.
