Hi Nala: I think it is some sort of Bryozoan or sponge like ..... preservation is micro quartz... ultra fine details... almost like artwork... Chert nodules occur sporadically and is not that common at Bois Blanc formation.... this layer sits ontop of the famed Silurian Bertie Lagerstatte.

I like this kind of natural artwork and Bois Blanc sound French :)
