Partial Redfieldius gracilis

Fossildude19

Early Jurassic Shuttle Meadow Fm.

CT.

Well preserved individual, missing dorsal, anal, and caudal fins, and the front 1/3 of the head!

The eye socket is clearly visible.

Note the shiny pyritized scales near the top middle and bottom middle of the fish.

The blue color noticeable in some areas is an unfortunate side effect of close proximity to superglue fumes. :(

Tim,

Nice Specimen!

Try using a concrete sealer/additive. I use here in Australia Bondall's "Bondcrete" to glue everything. It's basically like PVA wood glue, but drys in half the time and is strong.

Iv'e glued a 150kg shark nodule back to together with this stuff. With your fish specimen you could water it down 50% and get a nice tight fit back together. it's possible to not notice a crack on some rock types.

Cheers

Steve

Very nice find, Tim!!!

Once more, I enjoyed your exemplary collection! Wonderful finds very well displayed and accompanied by the relative info!!! Important to me, as well, that all (or almost all, if I missed something) are your own finds!!!

Thanks a lot for all this...

Astrinos! You honor me with your kind words! Thank you my friend.

I thank you for looking at my collection.

Most of these were indeed found by me. I have a only a few fossils that I have purchased, or that were given to me by friends and family.

Kind regards,

Tim
