Two Fish

Both Early Jurassic Shuttle Meadow Fm. finds from Connecticut.

Redfieldius gracilis and Diplurus longicaudatus.

Diplurus is thought to have been the largest predatory fish in the Newark Supergroup great rift basin lakes. You can see by the size of this partial specimen just how big they were (compared to the nearly complete 3.5" Redfieldius gracilis next to it!), and how they could be the most feared fish in these lakes.
