Alien head

Interesting. What sort of sediments does the Alien head come from?

Looks very much like chitin (exoskeleton) from some sort of arthropod. In particular a pro thorax from a beetle.

Would there have been holes going all the way through where the "eyes" are? Couldn't tell from the photo.

This would be where the the two front legs attach.

I just shined a flashlight on it. I cant see light passing through the eye/leg area. It seems to be solid. Having said that, the tiniest bit of sand would block the light. It appears to be clean and clear of sand, but...

As far as sediment material, this is a over my head, but here is what I can tell you. It was dug from a river bottom. We have screened all the larger material away. I believe the material we dig in is mostly Dolomite (or something like that/ I will look it up), Phosphate and soft clay. The County is Citrus, Florida.

Ok, the word I was looking for is DOLOSTONE.
