Yeah, you're right. Some dealers don't think tar pit material from McKittrick or Maricopa is flashy enough so they say it's from La Brea. There is some old collection stuff out there but just about everything that has been on the market in the past 20 or so years is most likely from Kern County rather than Los Angeles.
