Order Neotaenioglossa Family Turritellidae Vermicularia recta Olsson & Harbison, 1953 Location: APAC, Sarasota County, Florida USA. Notes: Many times misidentified as worm tubes (annelida) however can clearly be determined as a gastropod when spire is preserved. Free floating larva settle in mass to form concentrated beds. This species is the primary fauna component of Pinecrest Beds 5 & 8.
