Fish slab (unidentified species)

Mike Owens

Not only do you see the scales you can also see vertebra on both ends. It was found in the dump site of road construction at I 30 & loop 12 in Arcadia Park Dallas County Texas. Also found at this site are: Ammonite, shrimp & crab with "mother of pearl." Site is now fenced-off & posted no tresspassing. sad.gif

That is awesome! what is it?

A slab of gar-like fish. It has the scales & vertebrae (I haven't had time to label my last photo posts. I have been busy down-loading & cleaning up my photofiles).

Those are just too cool!! It is a shame you can't collect there anymore--especially with fossils like that.
