K-Pg boundary
The famous boundary that separates the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. The lower grey sandstone is the uppermost Hell Creek formation, and the light tan sandstone above is the lowermost Fort Union formation. The mass extinction event occurred coincidentally when this region was dominated by coal production.
