Curious, how high of a grit do you polish the rock?  Do you put a clear coating of some sort over it?  Thanks in advance, you are very skilled at prepping with the engraver; which is what I use as well.

Hi Jaybot, i would usually go up as far as 1000 but some are good enough at 500-800 , after engraver prep i use a dremel stylus with diamond bits to smooth it all out leaving sanding a lot quicker and easier , on finish i spray a thin coat of non yellowing UV resistant semi matte polyurethane to seal and protect the fossil and surrounding matrix
