Great find. I am really curious about this fossil.

This looks a bit like a a fossil pearl in "A Field Guide to Fossils of Texas".

Is this from the Kamp Ranch FM?

Been thinking about cutting open some possible pearls (tried once already on a rock that ended up most likely not being a pear. I would sort of expect concentric circles versus lines radiating from the middle but there is just not much description on these. I know inoceramid clams grow this way so it makes perfect sense that their pearls would too.

Tony,

This is that pearl in Chuck's book. Send me a P.M. on my Yahoo email & I will provide you the information you want.

Mike
