Nandomas
Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are gonna get!!! Concerned for gas shortage in France, yesterday, in the early morning my wife and I changed our plans and we decided to leave France passing through Provence before reaching Munich, Germany, for one of the best European fossil show. The general idea was to visit some friends and fossil localities we knew along the way. To make it short, we asked permission to enter in a fossil site to look for dinosaur eggshell fragments and once in, we immediately noticed that the place was a lot different from the last time we visit it, maybe because of last spring flash floods. Most of the red sand soil that covered the site was gone, uncovering the creek bed. In a few minutes we step on some dinosaur eggshell fragments, and as I turned my eyes, I found 3 white circle on the bottom of one of the gullies. WOWWOWWOWWOW!!!!! Dinosaur nest!!!!!! :o We cleaned part of the creek bed, discovering from 8 to 11 (it is hard to count them right because some of them are just partial eggs) dino eggs in situ, they resembled multiple olympic rings. We were obviously unable to dig them out, and, most important, the site is on private property. We reported to the owner and he was very happy. He also ask us to keep our mouth shut, the site could be vandalized and he does not want mess in his property. So, those are the best fossils I found this October, I just had to left them in place. Just Bob
LOL,when I first saw the photos I thought you put a white circle around where you though the eggs where, thinking to myself "I don't see it" then I realized they were the eggs. Another great find. Did the property owner say what he was going to do with it? "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
