New Members DeborahTheBee Posted April 6, 2015 New Members Share Posted April 6, 2015 Had a lovely day at the Fossil Park in Sylvania, OH on Saturday, April 4. Spent less than 1.5 hours and gathered more than 60 specimens. Recent rains probably uncovered a few. Found my first gastropod, that was exciting. Several horn corals, crinoids, byozoan and a lot of brachiopods.

BigGuy
I included Slyvania Fossil Park in an Rock and Gem article on an environmentally great idea for a quarry recovery. Congratulations on your finds. Thank you for sharing your experience. Maybe this will encourage families to take an interest in science by doing something not only educational but fun and easily accessible. . New Members DeborahTheBee Posted April 12, 2015 Author New Members Share Posted April 12, 2015 Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. I am fortunate in having been reared in a family that took fossil and rock hunting trips for vacations.
