They've been off line for a while. Dan had some contributions on there. Maybe he knows who to contact for an answer. Dan?

I once met Zappa at a bar in Houston. He came in to check out Head East (that tells you about how long ago). He sat right behind me.

You mean Keith Minor's website CretaceousFossils.com? I don't know. Hopefully it's temporary.

The place seems to be up for sale!

Yeah, it has been down awhile. I know he frequently leaves town

but pretty strange. I will email him and post if I hear anything.

Cool. I really liked that site. I would hate to see it disappear, especially after the makeover he was doing.

I met him back stage in '75 at a show in Frankfort. We then went to the hotel to party. He stayed in his room, but the rest of the band were pretty wild.

The news is bad... no more Cretaceous.com. Heard from Keith.

Wish it would have been better news.

Thank you Roz, they will be missed :(

Did he archive his web site for possible future resurrection?

¿Que? You been drinking again Dan? Or is that some poetic description of an echinoid?

Re. Cretaceousfossils.com, Keith was trying to find someone to take it over, and had talked to some Dallas Paleo Society folks about it last year, but nothing came of it that I know of. There's so much content that it would be a major chore for someone to keep it going, and I guess Keith couldn't find anybody willing to put in the time. Presumably the files are archived somewhere.

Duh, now I get it. Sorry, never was a Zappa-head...maybe I should become one!

C'mon Dan, you're too young to be a Zappa fan!

I still think Zappa could've been describing a heart urchin. You know, the crux (= cross) are the four paired ambs, and the apostrophe is the (short) unpaired amb? Ok, ok, so I need to find some higher-quality drugs...

BTW, thanks a lot for calling me last night! When I got done talking to you I apparently put my phone down somewhere in the store I was walking through at the time.

Yep, senility not only makes you absent-minded, it also causes you to have responsibility issues. :-)
