It was found in an area associated with Enchodus, Whale and Walrus. it is largely agatised. Any thoughts as to what this is? Be true to the reality you create. tracer Posted November 16, 2009 Share Posted November 16, 2009 it's kind of jumbled-up looking frank, but the lower right picture looks a bit to me like the underside/ventral surface of a vertebral and costal scute from a turtle carapace. don't know... Frank Menser Posted November 17, 2009 Author Share Posted November 17, 2009 I'm looking at the photos and I can see why you might think turtle. However, it is much thicker and rounder in person. In some ways it reminded me of a whale inner ear bone but when placed next to one (and I have dozens) it is obviously different. Dimensions 3" X 2" x 1" - 2" As far as the texture, I have Enchodus palatine bones from the same locality that also have that smooth quality. Be true to the reality you create.
