Pemphix
Can we get a sharp focused close-up of skull, pelvis and tail, pls. ? And a photo of the back from the slab. What is with the crack on the upper right side of the slab ? On a very first view i would agree to FranzBernhard - but better have a closer view, cause the photos are not optimal.
Spoons
Ive always wondered about those Keichosaurus fossils you always see. Are most of them fake?

Some, but from what I've seen over the years, most are genuine but are often badly prepped or have areas 'restored' or just painted on. 3 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend. I agree with Tidgy's Dad. I would say there are only a few fake Keichosaurus. It is found abundantly in Guizhou and there is little incentive to fake one. The two photos below show a poorly faked Keichosaurus and a genuine one, for comparison.

On a very first view this fake one maybe would pass through, but with the second view the holes from the bubbles in the used resin are very obvious. Furthermore the cast is not very detailed and easily to identify as such....
New Members jda Posted April 30, 2020 Author New Members Share Posted April 30, 2020 Thanks for the very helpful comments. In case it is of interest I attach the close ups. It is mounted so I can’t photo the back. I was warned about the crack as a part of the slab that was likely to break off in transit. But it didn’t in the end.
