Nautiloid
Greetings everybody! While I was on my fishing trip last weekend I took some time to look for fossils. I collected at a couple of creeks exposing the Middle Ordovician Trenton Group in North-Central NY. I found lots of trilo-bits and other goodies! Enjoy
Nautiloid
Some unidentified Calymenid. It’s pretty beat up but it’s probably a new species for me!
Nautiloid
Here are a couple of Isotelus free cheeks. One is from a tiny juvenile and the other is from a much larger, mature individual. And here are a couple of Isotelus pygidia.
Nautiloid
Here are a couple pieces of really large Isotelus! This is a piece of a pygidium from quite a large individual. Here is a trilobite chunk that has what I assume is chain coral growing on it.
Nautiloid
These are some of the other finds. Nautiloids, gastropods, rugose corals, and brachiopods.
Nautiloid
There were also a couple of amazing fossils I saw that I decided not to collect. The first one is a HUGE Isotelus pygidium and the second is a really large orthocone.
