hemipristis Posted December 10, 2020 Share Posted December 10, 2020 My best guess for the first one is a geologic concretion involving goethite/limonite (Iron oxide, aka rust). It takes bizarre shapes sometimes. But on the off chance, do you have a photo of the other side? A remote thought is a fossil bryozoan colony, but that may be reaching. Planko Posted December 10, 2020 Share Posted December 10, 2020 I have found quite a few of the first image at NSR. They range in size but always the same color. Biggest was around 7 inches across. For the life of me I cannot remember the name. Not a fossil though. I will look it up when I get home this evening if no one gets to it first. Knew it would happen.
