Harry Pristis
Trying to ID these for someone. Their from a creek in Kansas Help! I can't make anything of them, Worthy . . . maybe better pix would help. I see the apparent striations. I've seen rodent gnaw marks on bone (or antler) that are wide-spread, but shallow. Rodent gnaw marks are paired. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest

PaleoRon
They remind me of broken sections of enamel I have found from mastadon teeth but the patterns are different.
worthy 55
See if these are better pictures. Could they be some of those strange shark teeth? It's my bone!!!
ebrocklds
these fossils remind me of lung fish teeth. i have collected them from the mississippian and the jurassic and they have the same enamel texture. i have not seen this texture on anything else, so my guess would be lung fish. the size and shapes vary drastically between species. here are a few pics of mine first the mississippian, Manning Canyon Shale specimen. and the Jurassic Morrison Formation tooth Brock
