Cianfaglione
Here are a few recent plant finds from the Early Jurassic East Berlin Formation in Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. Possible plant ID's include a Pine Cone (almost three-dimensional!), Pine Seed, Brachyphyllum/Pagiophyllum, Equisetum. Comments, identifications, or corrections are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Fossildude19
Great finds, Paul! That cone is fantastic! 1 - Pagiophyllum sp. 2 - Equisetites sp. & maybe a cone scale? 3 - Pagiophyllum sp. 4 - ??? Could be a piece of Brachyphyllum sp, or a conifer cone scale - really not sure on this. 5 - Nice Cheirolepidiaceae cone - maybe Himirella? Well done, sir! 1 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Cianfaglione
Thank you Tim for rescuing me on the fossil identifications!!! Love to find more this summer, but the poison ivy has now become a barricade! I also need Mother Nature to start eroding more rock!! Thanks again, Paul
