FrozenInTime
Hi people, I recently came across pictures of this fossil on the internet, with an interesting story on determination that was apparently done by our members in the past: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Fossil_Ceraurus.jpg http://www.backyardnature.net/n/x/trilobit.htm I find it quite amusinginteresting to see that this has been identified as a Ceraurus, and is said to be from the Ordovician? Would anyone agree with me that this is more likely to be a proetid from either the Permian or Carboniferous period, and because it's from Mississippi, it is likely that - ironically enough - a more exact age could well be Mississippian. Does anyone know more about the above story? The fossil itself looks pretty interesting, apart from the wrong ID. -Frozen
