This one is Kainops raymondi  happy0144.gif  Paciphacops has only 3 or occasionally 4 lenses per lens file.

@piranha   ahhhh...just went back and read that section in the book and I see that it is the number of lenses rather than the space between the lenses that determines. This one seems to be a combo of the two with more lenses like Kainops but also larger spaces between the lenses like Paciphacops. The book does say there were some transitional specimens. Hmmm...so I guess I will go with Kainops.  Thanks!

Here is a good match of Kainops raymondi from Campbell 1977.  Sometimes with lenses protruding above the sclera and others with narrower sclera between the lenses.

A Fossil for Today!

While it may just look like a slab of bone ..it's actually a piece of Triceratops frill!! A lovely present from my Fossil Forum Secret Santa @fishguy . I love it! I don't have much dino material, so it's kinda special.

Columnal articulating surfaces of crinoids are fascinating. Kind of like snowflakes, never seeming to be the same whenever I collect in a different area. Noticing these were from Oklahoma. Just returned from my trip!! Thanks for your help.
