piranha
2 hours ago, JamieLynn said: Paciphacops sp. from Oklahoma This one is Kainops raymondi Paciphacops has only 3 or occasionally 4 lenses per lens file. JamieLynn
@piranha ahhhh...just went back and read that section in the book and I see that it is the number of lenses rather than the space between the lenses that determines. This one seems to be a combo of the two with more lenses like Kainops but also larger spaces between the lenses like Paciphacops. The book does say there were some transitional specimens. Hmmm...so I guess I will go with Kainops. Thanks! www.fossil-quest.com
piranha
Here is a good match of Kainops raymondi from Campbell 1977. Sometimes with lenses protruding above the sclera and others with narrower sclera between the lenses.
