FF7_Yuffie
Hi, anyone able to narrow this down. Its a small tooth, I assume raptor. But could it be baby Nano? No serrations. 3mm. Hope pics are ok. It was tricky. Garfield County. Hell Creek
Fossildude19
I don't think these photos are good enough to make any kind of positive/accurate ID. FF7_Yuffie
Thanks. Yeah, given the size and my not-so-good phone, getting better photos was tricky. Even with my magnifying glass which I used to zoom it.. Thanks for enhancing it Edited March 9, 2022 by FF7_Yuffie
FF7_Yuffie
A few more. Showing faint serrations
jpc
the second bunch of photos are much better. But I cannot give it a name beyond theropod indet. maybe troodon can make an educated guess.
Troodon
Suggest to all collectors that they should invest in a USB scope. They are inexpensive and can get you decent photos to help in an ID. I can take a guess but unwilling to do so without clear photos it's an indet. theropod at the moment.

FF7_Yuffie
@Troodon I got a camera. Very tricky to use. Hope the photos are good enough
FF7_Yuffie
The clearish blob bit at the bottom is I believe glue, it was mounted (lightly) on a bit of backing.
FF7_Yuffie
With the root indenting ever so slightly in the middle--does that mean it is a Nano?
Troodon
Nice much better, unfortunately there is nothing diagnostic to definitively point to any specific dinosaur. These micro teeth can be very difficult to call. Can be anything from a germ tooth to that of undescribed microraptor. You cannot rule out Nano but would have expected a more rectangular shaped base and the pinch on one side is a v groove but its only 3mm so who knows. Its a very cool tooth, not that many around this size and like I said can be hard to positively ID.
FF7_Yuffie
Thanks very much for the help. I'll keep it labelled as indeterminate theropod.
