New Members mostifer Posted March 16, 2022 New Members Share Posted March 16, 2022 I sure hope someone can help me! We have TONS of fossils where we live, but we've only ever seen the shell type ones and NEVER something like this. Perhaps these aren't fossils, but we sure think they are - we just have no idea what they may be. Any experts out there that can help with identification? We're in Northern CO along the foothills. ClearLake
Looks like you have the makings of a deer leg there. A couple of hoof cores and some toe bones.

New Members mostifer Posted March 16, 2022 Author New Members Share Posted March 16, 2022 Oh my goodness - I completely forgot to say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you SO much for letting me know!! We have tons of lions around here, so it makes sense that this was either an old buried cache or a doe that died while pregnant with a couple of fawns. Thank you!!

Glad you are having fun with the kids exploring for this kind of stuff.

I assume he is referring to the original bones in question, not the fossils that @Jeffrey P was addressing. But I suppose I should just let him answer.
