New Members OSLO Posted March 16, 2022 New Members Share Posted March 16, 2022 Hi all, I'm trying to identify two fossilized bones that I found near the San Marcos River in Gonzales County, Texas. I posted in a Facebook group, but received no responses, so I'm hoping that I'll have better luck here! I'm happy to take more photos or provide additional details that would aid in identification. Thank you!
ClearLake
Well, those might be a bit tough as they are just fragments, but they are definitely pieces of leg bones. I see the quarter, but a length might be helpful to someone trying to get more specific.

New Members OSLO Posted March 17, 2022 Author New Members Share Posted March 17, 2022 Thank you both for the feedback! Here is a photo with a ruler included that will hopefully help. Again, I'm more than happy to take additional photos, post specific measurements, etc.
pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon
Do you know the approximate age of the sediments at the location you found this? If so, that might also be very helpful to someone trying to identify this (probably not me, though, as my speciality lies with marine reptiles, which this is definitely not - the hollow bone gives that much away, at least). Length measurements of the two bones (i.e., in addition to the one width now given) may also be useful.
