I found this tooth today in Colorado Springs. In the Pierre Shale formation. It looks very shark tooth like.

I prepped it out a bit to expose it more. I think it might be Pseudocorax granti ? ... but I'm not sure.

Could this be a shark tooth and if so what species?

Looks like a rock to me. Maybe a bit of chert in the middle.

nice! If you were in Texas I'd say you found a Squalicorax, but considering it's still in matrix, those weak serrations are suspicious. I'll wait for some better at this to chime in

I'd go for Squalicorax with worn serrations.

I know that @jpc is familiar with the Pierre Shale. I wonder if he's encountered shark teeth in his hunts?

The Pierre Shale (at least in WY) is largely devoid of shark teeth, but if I had found this one, I would call it Squalicorax.  Full disclosure,: I am no expert, and I am not familiar with Pseudocorax.
