I saw this thread and wanted to share one of my favorite fossils from this great formation. I found this piece in July, 2020 in eastern Wyoming. These fused osteoderms come from the skull of a lizard, likely the frontal bone from the genus Helodermoides, a glyptosaurine anguid.

Lots of fun stuff here.  This is the Fm that turned me on to paleontology.  I will share some photos this evening.  I have one on loan to the Tate Museum, on display... and here it is.  A Hyaenodon skull from eastern Wyoming.

@Nimravis could this be an oreodont? This foot bone sure looks a lot like one I’ve found associated with an oreodont skull before…..

it’s one of my bucket list items to prep out a whole oreodont skeleton!

I’m away from my collection at the moment, but I think I’ll share an older set of pictures of my White River display shelf. These are some of my better pieces from the last two field seasons, a few weeks of collecting total. The rest of my White River stuff is in storage, including two partial Oreodont and one partial Poebrotherium skeleton I found as spills. Everything is a personal find except the titanothere astragalus, as the ranch I collect on appears to be mostly too stratigraphically high up for titanotheres.

Please note that not all the labeling is 100% accurate, and I am aware of this. The skull in particular I now believe to be Leptauchenia. Nor is everything 100% fully prepared.
