quam_fossilium
A few weeks ago I picked up a very interesting fossil. The seller didn't know what it was, but I believe it to be Eutrichiurides. It is very large, approximately 27cm x 10cm and contains many small, sharp, blade-like teeth. The teeth are in essentially perfect condition and the mandible is more or less intact. It is very robust for a mandible this size and I believe this is the majority of the lower left mandible of this animal. I can't find any other examples of Eutrichiurides of this size, but otherwise it matches all other examples I have found. Important details: Period: (laatste) Krijt (Maastrichtian) Age: 66.0-72.1 mil y Location: Khouribga, Morocco I would welcome any thoughts and opinions about this fossil.
Fossildude19
I would agree, this looks like Eutrichiurides sp.
