I found this piece today...it's the first time I'd seen something like this...I don't have anything like it. I can see where a bone has broken off from it...but i can't figure out the area with the flatter side and the holes or openings. I'm not sure where to start with this identification.  Horse and cow are pretty common in my finds but I've already been surprised by other pieces.  Gravel bank in Southeast Texas.   And forgive me for all the pictures...I'm really trying to get everything I can to help ID it.

The foramen reminds me of a feline distal humerus head, but I could be way off base because I can't quite get a feel for the way this is oriented from the pictures.

Yeah I couldn't figure out which was top, bottom, left, or right  either

@johnnyvaldez7.jv

If it were a distal humerus, then I think the break on the left hand side of your third picture should be oriented straight up with the C-shaped part on the right hand side facing down.

I think this is most likely a piece of a skull base with all those foramen. Not sure what animal, but something near the back, where the vertebrae join the skull. But, without staring at a bunch of skulls, I’m not positive of its location.

But, keep looking, with all the pieces you are finding, pretty soon you will have an almost complete animal!:thumbsu:

Thank y'all.  I'll set it up as Brandy mentioned and take pictures of it from all around in that same position to maybe help get some idea what it might be. I have other bones I haven't posted.  I found those 3 pieces yesterday in about 30 mins so I didn't get much of a chance to get very far. The river is going down...and that's where I found these sitting on the sand exposed or on the gravel so I hope to get a good full day of getting out there soon.
