Very pretty.:)

I think it could be chalcedony or another of the cryptocrystalline or microcrystalline quartz varieties.

I'll have to agree with chalcedony. Not a fossil at any rate. This should be transferred to rocks & minerals.

Looks similar to what's called an eye agate.

Accomplishing the impossible means only that the boss will add it to your regular duties.

Looks more like opal to Me. Does a piece of it feel heavy compared to a similar sized rock?

I'll agree with some of the other folks that mentioned "eye agate" and chalcedony. I would even go further and say it could be common opal or potch. It's also "brecciated" so you could add that onto the final title. 

 

Ex: Brecciated Eye Agate

 

The hardness will help determine what it is. Opal is softer than Quartz, so if you have a way of scratching the surface with something of a known hardness, you can narrow it down.
