New Members CoyoteAbides Posted May 4, 2022 New Members Share Posted May 4, 2022 I found this in the river rock that was used to landscape the house I just moved into north of Portland Oregon. It has features on it that remind me of bone and light shines through like an agate. Any ideas??
Mark Kmiecik
My first impression is sponge or coral, but let's give others some time to chime in. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
daves64
Looks like a regular agate to me. Used to find them all the time right across the Columbia river when I still lived there. Oregon Coast Agates
On 5/4/2022 at 4:21 PM, CoyoteAbides said: I found this in the river rock that was used to landscape the house I just moved into north of Portland Oregon. I am considered an Oregon Coast Agate specialist at this point and to me that looks like a Chalcedony nodule. (Agate without the banding or inclusions that would make it an agate). I would love to see a picture or two of it wet, instead of dry to be 100% sure, but I am 99% sure at this point.
