The excellent pictures show me a silex type pebble with weathered percussion marks. No doubt.

Are you interested in hearing a reply? Genuinely.

Feel free to think what you want.

Having collected fossils for over 25 years, I can confidently say it isn't a fossil or artifact.

For myself, an answer is not required. :)

Not an artifact or fossil, I agree, but it's a nice conversation piece. :)

Extra Extra, read all about it!!

As I said a beat up phone and a few bits and pieces. I had forgotten my wife got me these for jewellery casting etc I am taking up...I digress...

Lads this thing seems to be changing. It's officially some reptilian head. You can see the colours, the patterns, the scales and possibly even a forked tongue peaking out. It's absolutely spectacular under the loupe. I'm not kidding, I've only briefly looked while replying to folks. Once again I do appreciate all the replies, if it is going to surprise yous then imagine how I feel!!

I now need to ask for help to be able to get to yous,  if yous want to see the pebble Evolving? Can anyone advise how to get the best photographic results? I'll do my best but any advice with lighting etc would help. Or I'll YouTube it.

I think the images you have provided are sufficient. It is not any sort of artifact nor reptilian head, its a pebble, 100%

And it has come to that time, where further discussion serves no purpose, whatsoever.  :shakehead:

The OP has his mind made up, and we will not change it.

We also know what he has, despite his claims to the contrary.

Best to take the item to the nearest museum, and have them look at it in hand.

Best of luck to Richard.
