New Members Blunderbore Posted May 9, 2022 New Members Share Posted May 9, 2022 Hi - Found this on a walking path along with tens of Devil's Toenails. It seems quite sizeable and I was quite excited when I found it. It has a 'hard' appearance and an interesting dark brown bone-like colour in certain parts. Also, notice that there is a sort of curvature below the first layer. I feel like I want to rule out part of a very large ammonite because the substance seems quite bone like compared to the rather sandstone effect that I have seen on these large ammonites (which also usually don't have such defined edges). Due to the curvature underneath it looks like that would have been another substance - not sure on the makeup of ammonite but could easily be a sort of bone marrow. But I'm not sure what bone would look like that.. I thought it look like some sort of vertebrae possibly from a large flat fish dinosaur thing - but this is my imagination getting the best of me, I'm sure!
