SawTooth
I have a few fragments like this, I believe they are pieces off of horse teeth.
Jbenton
I thought so at first, however the outer surfaces way to smooth for that. In addition the tooth looks complete. I don’t think it’s a horse.

Might have been broken vertically and smoothed by the river. What do you think they are ? If your hands are similar sized to mine, the fossil seems to be 37 mm. What is it's actual length ? I need a clear sharp photo of both ends, in bright sunshine if necessary. This photo seems to support that it is not horse. It might be an incisor of some small mammal, but I think the more likely possibility is that it is a trailing root tentacle of a mammoth tooth, broken off, smoothed by the sand in the river current The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"
Harry Pristis
It's a sliver of a horse tooth, very worn with stream polish. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
