New Members Nunes Posted May 25, 2022 New Members Share Posted May 25, 2022 How do you go about selling a fossil? Do I need to get it appraised?
Kane
You can look at the online auctions to see what similar items go for, and create an account to sell on that platform or do so privately. There is no formal appraisal process required. As the forum does not provide valuations, we would not be able to give you an approximate value for the specimen. 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Fossildude19
From the Forum Rules and Community Standards: "Please understand that The Fossil Forum cannot appraise the commercial value of a fossil; this is beyond what can be done through pictures on the internet, so please don't ask." I would also mention that the Member to Member Sales Forum is accessible only as a delayed permission, subject to a reasonable number of substantive posts. This delay was put in place to keep it from being a marketplace for dealers, spammers, and one off sellers. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
