Fossildude19
What county was this found in? What is the size of this? Could be a plant fossil, but could also be an infilled burrow. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 IPFOTM -- MAY - 2024 _________________________________________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Mark Kmiecik
If it is a stem determining an ID from a fragment like this is pretty much impossible. You would need a lot more of the plant to determine just the genus, let alone being able to ID the species as well. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them! Rockwood
None of that is going to make this be fossil horsetail under any name.

minnbuckeye
I thought it vaguely looked like glacial striations but Morgan County is too far south to have been glaciated. It is in Pennsylvanian bedrock.
